Earliest golfing memory?

Playing golf with my dad in Preston in the early 60s and smacking the odd five iron around the Peaworthan course.

Beating some mates as a 10-year-old. Those victories are very uplifting at that age.

First time to break 90?

It was while I was playing for Brighton in the late 70s and it occurred during a golf day for the football club.

Last piece of golf equipment purchased?

Two dozen Callaway balls purchased last Friday and the only reason I still have all of them is because I haven't played a game of golf since.

Last time you took a golf cart and why?

I take one every time. It's an age thing.

Last time you muttered an obscenity on a golf course and why?

Every time I play the game and they run into the hundreds over the course of a round.

Which of the Majors would you like to attend and why?

The US Masters. I have been to the British Open many times but Alan Hansen tells me that Augusta is a brilliant experience.

Who and where?

Tiger Woods, Bob Hope (in case Tiger's a bit dull) and Annika Sorenstam.

One last round on earth: where would it be?

Augusta National.

It's an age thing so Lyle & Scott.

Is the Titleist ProV1 worth the extra expense?

No, because you only get one shot; or at least I do.

Best golf club food. Where?

Portmarnock Golf Club.

Nine iron.

My trusty seven wood.

Links. I live in Southport which is something of a links heartland.

Florida, great courses, great weather.

Ormskirk Golf Club

Not snapping my Achilles tendon when playing against Wimbledon in 1987.
