THE international cricket selectors have named a panel of 23 players to prepare for this year's Benson and Hedges league campaign, which begins with fixtures at Southampton (April 26th) and Hove (April 28th).
The full squad meets for the first time at Queen's University tomorrow. Six sessions are scheduled for the coming weeks.
Half a dozen untried players have been invited along - slow left armers Greg Molins and Stephen Donnelly, all rounders Declan Moore, Derek Heasley and Kyle McCallan and finally, Andrew Patterson, who gets one of the wicket keeping spots ahead of Stephen Ogilby.
There are a couple of other interesting inclusions. Having been out of the picture for the past couple of seasons, pace bowler Paul McCrum has impressed sufficiently in the indoor nets, while London based Michael Rea has made a firm commitment to travel for squad sessions and interprovincials.
