Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy no longer enjoys the confidence of the Opposition following another day of uproar over speaking rights in Dáil Éireann.

At the height of the commotion Michael Lowry, the Tipperary TD made a rude gesture that was captured on camera, providing the Opposition with a perfect image to sum up what they say is wrong with the Government’s approach to the dispute.

On today’s podcast Jack Horgan-Jones and Cormac McQuinn join Hugh Linehan to explain what has been happening in Leinster House over the past two days and why the involvement of Lowry in the deal that created the Government is proving a much bigger problem than Michéal Martin anticipated.
