Sir - "Imagination is a kind of dynamo that provides the power for all creative activity, all originality. . .it can [also] be the energy behind any insight, any fresh deployment of our mental resources" (the Duchess of Abercorn, Fantasy and Imagination, 1995).
Perhaps if the Sinn Fein councillor Mr Finbar Conway had participated in the Pushkin Prizes Trust Schools Programme as a child, his imagination might have been sufficiently expanded to allow him to appreciate the advantages derived by hundreds of children throughout the whole of Ireland through their participation in this project. We are delighted to see that he has now reached that appreciation. As the Duchess has written, "to use one's imagination is to come awake." - Yours, etc.,
Chris Lennon, Principal, (on behalf of the staff), Dalkey School Project National School, Glenageary, Co Dublin.
