Sir, - The normally high standards of editorial judgement shown in The Irish Timeswere abandoned by the use of a photograph (January 18th) of cattle carcasses being processed in a Waterford meat plant.
This picture had nothing to do with the current cattle destruction scheme. It is a scene that can be found on any day, in any meat plant the world over. But it is a side of the food industry that none of us - farmers, consumers, and especially children - need to be shown in such graphic and almost obscene detail. - Yours, etc.,
Pat Lahiff, Peterswell, Co Galway.
