Sirs, - Regarding the announcement that the Health Minster is proposing to introduce regulations that cigarettes cannot be sold to persons under the age of 18, does that mean you can have sex but not enjoy a cigarette afterwards?
I have 3 teenage children and I can tell the Minister that the very best approach is that of informed consent. Raising the age to 18 will mean just one thing: my 15-year-old daughter will believe that to appear 18 she has to smoke. - Yours, etc.,
Richard Atherton, Malahide, Co Dublin.
