Sir, - This week, after abortive attempts, I finally got to see A Woman of no Importance. Having read all the adverse criticism directed at the play by theatre critics and members of the audience through your letters page (the only one not criticised was the author), I was still determined to see it.
Over many years of theatre going, I feel like a punter backing a horse. When you have an impressive cast, I fail to see how you can have a bad production. An indifferent audience, perhaps? I'm delighted I went; I thoroughly enjoyed it, and congratulate the actors and director for an enjoyable, laid back night of theatre. - Yours, etc.,
