Sir, – I wish to object to your photograph of Bobby Kerr jumping into the Forty Foot (“Wild about water”, Summer Living, August 2nd).
There are numerous notices inside the bathing area that warn swimmers that no diving or jumping is permitted.
By publishing this photo, you are encouraging swimmers to act in an unsafe and dangerous manner especially at this time of year when many young people swim in the Forty Foot.
Perhaps you might consider publishing an article warning swimmers of the dangers of jumping into the Forty Foot. This might prevent someone sustaining serious injury. – Yours, etc,
