Madam, – Your report on the EU threat to Irish beef exports (Dáil report, April 14th) prompts me to ask whether it would not be a good idea to explore the possibility of exporting beef to South Africa? For many years Rhodesian beef was imported, but now that agriculture in Zimbabwe has collapsed maybe Irish beef could find a place in the South African market.
We already have Kerrygold butter and cheese in our supermarkets, why not beef? – Yours, etc,
