Sir, - Mr M.D. Kennedy's letter (August 22nd) is timely. The pattern which has developed over the years is one of ever-diminishing benefits alongside ever-increasing charges, culminating in the recent six per cent increase.
While the VHI is deemed to be a co-operative, the members have never been asked for their views on anything, even when some time ago the then Government appropriated some £6 million from our funds. I would suggest that members now establish some form of watchdog committee with the aim of protecting our interests. - Yours, etc.,
