Sir, - Having read Kevin Myers's column (June 28th), I wish to publicly applaud him. He is one of the very few clear eyed observers and thinkers in this country. I am sick of the toleration of criminals whether Republican or "me feiners".
There are historical excuses - but not reasons - for the ambivalence towards the "behind the ditch" cowards referred to by fools as The Boys, but the crawthumping excuses trotted out for the toleration of those who would destroy the next and succeeding generations leaves me depressed and furious.
High flown talk of the protection of civil liberties isn't worth a curse when the most basic of all life and it's handing on unhindered to the next generation is so easily taken away. Yours, etc.
