Sir, – The decision of Donald Trump and Kim Jong-un to hold a summit is both remarkable and welcome (Front page, March 10th). This could be a first step in achieving permanent denuclearisation followed by, among others items, tackling human rights abuses.
This decision suggests that Trump is a man of action, unlike most of his colleagues in world politics who deal in empty words.
His decision to impose tariffs in order to save jobs and protect the wider economy the US may not appeal to his allies but will please the American electorate. Were we wrong about Trump? – Yours, etc,
