Sir, - Like your correspondent, Ms. Yvetter Sullivan (March 7th), I too live in the Knocklyon area, but unlike her I have never had access to the cycle path, which I use every day, blocked by the Travellers' vans or trailers. In fact, cycling home on Friday evening last, I was shocked to see an elderly Traveller man doing his best to move enormous boulders surrounding his trailer (delivered courtesy of the county council in his absence) in order to make a gap large enough to admit his van, so that it would not block the cycle path.
I think those of us fortunate enough to live in decent accommodation should be asking why Travellers are still living on the side of the road, surrounded by boulders, while the local authorities evade their responsibilities. - Yours, etc
