Sir, Considerable concern has been expressed by members of the public, and indeed within the Abbey Theatre, about The Irish Times recent review of Brian Friel's Translations. This concern emanates from the term "Englishness" as used in relation to Kenneth Haigh's performance. Perhaps your reviewer would care to comment?
