Madam, – Frank McNally’s points (An Irishman’s Diary, July 15th) on “title inflation” are well taken. Given that a significant obstacle to new learning is a refusal to abandon ideas that no longer work, might I suggest the title of “Chief Unlearning Officer” for each Minister in charge of a Government department. – Yours, etc,
