The swifts' slow exit

Madam, - Oran O'Sullivan of Birdwatch Ireland believes the late departure of the swift from these shores may be due to the effects of climate change (The Irish Times, August 29th).

Quite frankly, I find such speculation hard to swallow. - Yours, etc,
