Sir, - Rory O'Hanlon's remarks about the size, extent and nature of the President's headgear during her recent visit to the Vatican remind me of another of Aesop's fables - The Lion and the Ass. One day, as the lion proudly walked through the forest and the animals made way for him, an ass brayed a scornful remark as he passed. The lion felt a flash of anger, but when he turned his head and saw who had spoken, he walked quietly on. He would not honour the fool with even so much as a stroke of his claws. - Yours, etc., Marita O'Donovan,
