Sir, Congratulations to Tom Humphries for his serious, balanced and incisive article on Michelle Smith's achieveinents (July 27th). He directly asked the questions that needed asking, presented the relevant evidence, and drew some pertinent comparisons. We would do well to listen to both the substance and the tone of his case.
