Madam, – I turned on the radio to hear a Killarney jarvey complaining about having to use nappies/dung catchers on his horse (Home News, May 14th). Is he interested in working, at all?
Thirteen years ago, I travelled to Cape May, New Jersey, US, for a summer and I worked as a jarvey on a horse-drawn carriage. I had great fun, the horses had nappies, the horses were happy and the streets were clean and safe. Each carriage also had working front and rear lights and indicators – but I won’t go there. – Yours, etc,
