Madam, - G. Hurley (August 5th) succinctly sets out yet another tourist's exasperation with the abysmal signposting on our roads. I despair at the number of letters on this subject that have appeared in Irish papers over the years.
Is it a case that someone's in charge so something will be done (eventually), or that everyone's in charge so nothing will be done? Regretfully, I suspect the latter.
Would that we had a signposting system even half as good as the French one; then our motoring tourists might really begin to feel welcome and enjoy our country's treasures. - Yours, etc,
SAM IRWIN, Carrickbrennan Lawn, Monkstown, Co Dublin.
