Madam, - In brief, idle moments I amuse myself by working out the ratio of male to female writers published on your Letters page. Without fail it is overwhelmingly male, even when allowing for cases where initials are used, or where first names, such as "Pat", might be either male or female.
Surely Madam does not discriminate against women.
