Madam, - Joe Patton (August 30th) and W.J. Murphy (September 2nd) are to be applauded for highlighting the finest exponents of the art of dribbling in English football down the years. But no list of the greatest exponents of wizardry with a ball at their feet from these islands would be complete without the name of Jimmy Johnstone.

The former Scotland winger was arguably the best player ever to play for Celtic and was affectionately known as Jinky, for obvious reasons. Sadly, Johnstone died two years ago, aged 61, after a long battle with motor neurone disease. - Yours, etc,
