Sir, - The recent attacks and robberies on the elderly living in lonely rural areas can only be regarded as deplorable. However, something radical will have to be done now to protect these innocent citizens, from the violent thugs and robbers. The elderly, the old and the infirm generally seem to be prime targets for potential robbers and thugs.
Everything has been tried, to deter these violent attacks, from stiffer fines to longer jail terms but alas, all has failed. These vulnerable citizens should be supplied with a pair of guard dogs which would ensure their safety from any attacks or robberies. - Yours, etc.,
