Sir, - Mary Holland and Bertie Ahern are both right to say that the vote on the Agreement will be "the most important civic duty" which people will ever be called on to perform. If Mr Ahern wants to get the people out to vote, he should emphasise that it will be the nearest most people will get to making history. Just as those people still alive who voted in the election after the Treaty remember (and probably stand by) their vote, so too will those who vote on Friday. I suggest the slogan: For the rest of your life you can say you voted Yes in May 1998. - Yours, etc., Frank Desmond,
London.
