Madam, – On Monday night I visited two well-known pubs in Temple Bar. It wouldn’t be a stretch to call these pubs tourist traps, but I was still amazed to be asked to pay €6.60 for a pint of Kilkenny. Talking to some of the other patrons led me to the conclusion that this was the norm rather than the exception in the area.
In the current environment, surely we should be doing everything we can to attract tourists, not rip them off and discourage them from returning. When will we ever learn? – Yours, etc,
