Madam, - Please do something to stop all these letters pleading with the Government to stop the road through Tara. How much more pain do we need to endure, hearing about all the "fascinating" things that "may" be buried in Tara. "Ooohh look, Reginald, another broken piece of pottery!" "Come quick, Tarquin, look at this piece of wood that used to be a knife!"
When are people going to get over the past, and look to the future? It's getting ridiculous at this stage. If people were so concerned with all the "archaeological treasure" in Tara, then why didn't they excavate the area years ago? You'd swear the Government was about to demolish the equivalent of Christ Church Cathedral to build this road.
It's called progress, and if the Government didn't have to listen to all these whiners, complaining and delaying everything, then maybe we'd have a transport infrastructure that wasn't comparable to the third world. - Yours, etc,
JOHN CUSSEN,
Lucan,
Co Dublin.
