Sir, - The other day I bought a bottle of shampoo from O'Connell's Pharmacy in Grafton Street. The price-tag on the bottle clearly stated £2.99, with the euro price quoted just above at €4.05.
Courtesy of my trusty new Government-supplied euro converter, I discovered that the euro equivalent of £2.99 was in fact €3.80.
Does this represent the beginning of the great currency changeover scam we all fear? - Yours, etc.,
Sarah Deeny, Rostrevor Road, Rathgar, Dublin 6.
