Sir, - A word of support for the Supreme Court judges, from a mere pleb. They have been variously accused by Deputy Gay Mitchell of not being in touch with the people, and by William Binchy for not being philosophers. Two over-extreme views.
As a typical middle-class, multi-faceted, stressed-out Irish give-and-taker, I would like to take the time to address the Supreme Court thus; Thank you for removing yourselves far enough from the public to avoid corruption, and from nutty philosophic ideals which are unworkable, for human beings in a free society. Yours etc.,
Merton Road, Rathmines, Dublin 6.
