Madam, – It was with resignation that I read your Property section (November 4th) and saw a spread on the new development called Honeypark in Dún Laoghaire, which is beside us here in Honey Park, Dún Laoghaire. This is despite all our efforts to prevent the duplication of the name. We have run the treadmill of contacting the politicians, attended council meetings and sent letters to the developers requesting a more suitable name, such as Honeyfields.
I wish the residents well when they eventually move in. I hope they have the civic spirit to forward back our mail as we already do theirs. We will continue to tell all the taxis, vans, visitors and ambulances when they mistakenly read their map or follow their GPS to our narrow, cute little road. We will guide them as they dangerously have to (illegally) reverse onto a main road.
If the powers that be are reading this, I would ask them please, for the last time before more disturbance ensues, do the right thing and adjust the name. – Yours, etc,
