Madam, – Your correspondent Joss Fitzsimons (June 7th) had a good idea, about the issue of a stamp having a ship on it.
We Irish have been waiting since 1945 to see any Irish vessels lost in the second World War commemorated by our national postal authorities, or even a commemorative set marking the demise of the nation’s Irish Shipping Ltd.
There are plenty of pictures on which to accurately base such illustration, before it is too late. And very experienced and knowledgable artists in this country. – Yours, etc,
