Madam, - I attended an evening of music, poetry, and drama in Celbridge Public Library last Thursday evening. What a pleasant and refreshing experience: no microphones, flashing lights, superfluous sound systems - just sincere and passionate performances given by local people.
The conversation during the interval was about the simple joys of life - friends and family. The economic downturn, the Lisbon Treaty, the tribunals, etc were not discussed. Admission was free,
Thanks to all concerned. They have reminded me of what we used to enjoy before we became obsessed with materialism.
