Sir, - It was interesting to note the black-and-white view of the world expressed by M. Magill (August 18th).
From this simplistic perspective it seems that politicians such as Ruairi Quinn who speak out against genocide in Kosovo are to be branded nothing less than "cheerleaders for the bombing of Belgrade". It is obvious that the writer failed to grasp any of the recent debate within the Labour Party (and the rest of the country) which quite clearly condemned genocide and ethnic cleansing in the Balkans no matter what the source.
If we were all to adopt this same simplistic thought process, we would have no choice but to conclude that M. Magill is nothing more than a cheerleader for Milosevic and all that he stands for. - Yours, etc., Anthony Garrett,
