Madam, - Whatever about the "official" Catholic Church, I don't think too many priests would disagree with Helen Browne's view (June 27th) that sexual activity is "a healthy and normal way of expressing love and affection" - but only within marriage or at least in a committed relationship.
This is far removed from the hedonistic condom culture that Fiona O'Malley, TD, seems to condone. It is a culture that has divorced sex not only from procreation, but from love.
The unbridled sexuality of the past three decades has generated a frightening array of social and medical problems.
The Catholic Church has indeed lost the battle over sexual permissiveness (Bob Strunz, June 28th), but let's stop pretending that love has got much to do with it. - Yours, etc.,
