Sir, - I refer to Mr John Ducie's recent letter, which I most heartily endorse. However, quite apart from the permanent loss to Dun Laoghaire of the priceless legacy of its central park and gardens, so much a feature of cities of note, one has to question seriously the very poor bargain that our council apparently has struck.

They are, it seems, getting the cost of a rather second rate theatre (according to those who know about such things) in return for 2.8 acres of prime development land. I think that any valuer will tell us the ratepayers are getting a raw deal. - Yours etc
