Sir, - I am surprised at the fact and the tenor of Kevin Myers's responses to two readers' letters in his Irishman's Diary of April 11th. Given that he has free reign and ample column inches to unburden himself of his various views almost daily, I find it odd that for the third time he has revisited the Ryanair dispute. Particularly so, since on each occasion he has simply repeated a series of inaccurate, unfounded and provocative statements which bear a remarkable similarity to claims made by Ryanair throughout the dispute.

I do think it wrong of Mr Myers to sneer in such an infantile way at readers who have taken the trouble to express their views in your Letters column. Regarding his swipe at RTE, it seems that he is still not aware that the planned purchase of aircraft by Ryanair extends over a considerable period, and the news was already published two weeks earlier in the Sunday Times. Hardly news, Mr Myers - or should I say Kev? - Yours, etc., Michael Finnegan,
