Sir, - I read the recent reports on road safety in this country with some interest. There was no mention of the quality of Irish roads and their effects on the tragedies all too prevalent on our roads. Is it not time that people opened their eyes and realised that driving in Ireland will never be safe when our roads remain neglected? Surely improving the standards of Irish roads is a lot more feasible than forcing people to wear seat belts and to remain within the speed limits. - Is mise,
