A chara, - May I make three points?
1. As the mother of three children under five, I have discovered one basic rule of conflict resolution. That is, when one child hits another, hitting the offender is not the answer. Rather than showing the child that violence is unacceptable, it actually demonstrates that the bigger you are, the harder you can hit.
It seems to me that George W. Bush, Tony Blair and our own Bertie Ahern have failed to grasp this basic point.
2. Wouldn't it be nice if we could learn from history and actually have meaningful negotiations now without the necessity of having a war first?
3. Having listened to and read a lot of rubbish in the media in the past few weeks which seems to suggest that anyone who is not entirely happy with the current method of "conflict resolution" must be anti-American, does point 1 above mean that I am anti-American, anti-British, anti-Irish. . ?
I trust not. - Is mise,
