Sir, - In light of the recent events in Florida, and with the possibility of more terrorist attacks by bin Laden supporters, isn't it about time the Government outlined its contingency plan in the event of attacks on Ireland?
Many people are worried at the prospect of biological warfare and have no idea what to do if there is such an attack. They do not know if our country is prepared for such an event. We need to be educated to protect ourselves and our families.
Also, many people are afraid to go abroad in case they become targets elsewhere so there is little point in trying to encourage people to fly by reducing air fares. By offering our airports as landing bases without polling the people, the Government has made Ireland a potential target for these terrorists. It is doing little to reassure us about our position in this war. - Yours, etc.,
Adrienne Reddan, Harcourt Road, Dublin 2.
