Madam, - Over the past few years the Government has displayed an apparently dogged determination to relocate the Abbey Theatre anywhere but its historic home, the site it currently occupies in the street of the same name and where it was founded over a century ago.
In the light of its new location, is it reasonable to assume that our national theatre will now be renamed the George's Dock Theatre, or will they dishonestly continue to endow it with a name it no longer has even the remotest connection to? - Yours, etc,
