Madam, – It is a national disgrace for the State to disclaim all moral responsibility for the inhuman treatment meted out to the many young women and children detained in the Magdalen laundries over the years. Contrast this with the “sweetheart deal” of €1 million of taxpayers’ money lavished out by the State on the pension of the former director general of Fás, Rody Molloy and the profligate spending by Government ministers on their junkets.
