A chara, - Frank McDonald, in his piece on Dublin's northside streets near the Phoenix Park (Features, July 8th), combines nostalgia with critical comment on the decline in the residents' quality of life.
His apt remarks about the proliferation of cars are relevant on both sides of the Liffey. In the southern suburbs also, vehicles "half-parked on the footpaths" hinder and endanger pedestrians.
Northsiders and southsiders should unite and reclaim the footpaths for walkers. - Is mise,
