Sir, - Nuala Ahern declares (March 3rd) that she gets the impression from some of my science columns in The Irish Times that I am "a supporter of nuclear policy". And she declares that I am a member of the board of the Radiological Protection Institute of Ireland (RPII) which "gives credence to the impression that the RPII in general is aligned with a pro-nuclear ideology".
In my letter (February 25th) I declared that I wish to see Sellafield closed down. This sounds anti-nuclear to me, but if Nuala Ahern is not convinced, let me say it as plainly as I can - I am, and I have always been, anti-nuclear. Secondly, I am not a member of the board of the RPII. I was a member of that board, but my term of appointment expired a few years ago. - Yours, etc.,
Dr William J. Reville, University College, Cork.
