Sir, - Within the past week thousands of Queen's graduates throughout the world should have received their copy of the current issue of the Vice-Chancellor's Letter to Graduates, Queen's regular alumni publication. The magazine contains many interesting articles and news stories, and highlights some of the many achievements of Queen's staff, students and alumni both at home and overseas.
The current issue includes an interview with Queen's new Chancellor, Senator George Mitchell, and articles on the Nobel prizewinner David Trimble, on the university's success in converting wave energy into electricity and on several new senior key appointments at Queen's. Also, graduates get the opportunity to nominate fellow alumni and current students for the Graduate and Student of the Year Awards, launched earlier this month.
Many graduates, however, may not be in receipt of the magazine or other regular news from the university. I would ask all those who have lost touch with Queen's, or who have recently moved address, to contact the Alumni Office - telephone: 01232 335322, fax: 01232 236618, or email alumni@qub.ac.uk - immediately please, so that our records can be amended. The address is: Alumni Office, The Queen's University of Belfast, Belfast BT7 1NN. - Yours, etc.,
Gerry Power, Alumni Officer, Queen's University, Belfast 7.
