Sir, - As everyone knows, there is fierce pressure on space in the Irish Times. I have an idea. Instead of allowing Hugh Linehan to squander so many precious column inches on his film previews, why not simply inform readers when the film was made and whether it was a box-office success? If the film was made in the 1940s or `50s, is in black and white or, better still, was a silent movie, then it's worthy viewing. If it has been made in the last decade and was a hit, then it's rubbish! - Yours, etc.,
