Madam, – Why are the German and French leaders devoting so much effort to getting Ireland to increase its corporation tax rate…

Madam, – Why are the German and French leaders devoting so much effort to getting Ireland to increase its corporation tax rate? Surely the problem is not the companies that pay an honest 12.5 per cent tax on their profits, but those which use the “Dutch sandwich” and/or the “Double Irish” to pay a dishonest 1 per cent or less.

The EU and its member states should be combining their energies to devise common procedures for suppressing these tax-evasion stratagems. – Yours, etc,
