Sir, - Mr. Vincent Browne, in his postscript apology at the end of his article (July 10th), is not quite good enough. He does not mention that other mysterious remark in his article on June 28th: "It is not possible to be any more specific about the likely reasons for her killing because of restrictions of press freedom - the restrictions on press freedom retained by (John Bruton, Dick Spring, Proinsias De Rossa, Mary Harney et al.) those who have expressed such concern about press freedom in the light of her murder".
What does he mean by those remarks (press freedom and the restrictions on press freedom)? Are the four elected Dail representatives mentioned putting restrictions on Mr. Browne's press freedom? Or are they putting restrictions on the freedom of the press on The Irish Times? Or does it apply to all Irish newspapers? I would like to know about these restrictions on press freedom, in this year AD 1996! Yours, etc.,
St. Brigids Court,
Killester, Dublin
