Sir, Mr S. J. Watson's information (March 26th) is largely correct and is included in de Vlieger's History at the Coote Family. A limited edition of 100 copies was printed in 1900 and I am fortunate to possess one of them.
He is however, incorrect in his assertion that Sir Eyre's wife, Jane Bagnell did not accompany him to Jamaica as their first son, Eyre, was born in Jamaica in 1806.
