Sir, – My great grandfather Thomas J Joyce wrote a letter to your predecessor on Friday, July 8th, 1864. He was a farmer in the Joyce Country mountains.
He described The Irish Timesas a "valuable paper" and hoped you would insert his letter, which the paper did.
