Sir, - I wonder if Sean Moran is intentionally hiding behind a paradoxical solecism when rebuking our President for (a) going hatless to Rome; (b) having an international feminist agenda.
He says these values will not "promote the weal of women". Interestingly, that word "weal" has two definitions in the Concise Oxford Dictionary. The first definition is "prosperity", the second is "an injury caused on flesh by stroke or rod or whip".
Is Mr Moran really suggesting that our President is promoting the latter? Surely that is the ongoing work of patriarchy! I rest my case. - Yours, etc.,
