Sir, - I read your paper online everyday, having left Ireland for greener pastures almost two years ago. Like most young people who leave Ireland, I had always planned to return and make my home there. However, the constant reports of corruption and depravity in political Ireland have left me with no desire to return to a country where it appears that the true meaning of the Celtic tiger is that the rich get richer and not only the poor but the middle classes can no longer afford to buy a home. When asked about politics in Ireland, I liken it to that of an African dictatorship - the only difference being that the citizens are not "bumped off" for voicing their opinions - yet. - Yours, etc.,
Grania O'Connell, The Netherlands.
